Served as Interim Chair since May 2015; highlights include:

  • A strategic plan for Brenner Children’s Hospital was developed with broad input from faculty, staff and families
  • Pediatrics/Brenner Children’s faculty have expanded with recruits in multiple subspecialties
  • The pediatric multispecialty clinic has been restructured, and several cross-disciplinary clinics have been established to enhance the experience for patients and families

About Dr. Poehling

  • National leader in pediatric epidemiology and prevention
  • Joined Wake Forest Baptist in 2007
  • Research expertise: Vaccine-preventable diseases in children, such as influenza, pneumonia and whooping cough
  • Clinical interests: General pediatrics, pediatric epidemiology and prevention
